Riding Tokyo's subway system recently, I noticed a man scanning a newspaper cartoon of Alan Greenspan. It depicted the Federal Reserve chairman sitting Buddha-like, burning incense and stretching his arms up toward the sky. Gathered around him were a handful of hecklers, yelling complaints and hurling vegetables.
