The maxi-Isa allowance is to fall to £5,000 and the mini to £1,000 from 6 April 2006 under the Government's pre-Budget report. It has also proposed to change the subscription limits to the various Isa components from 6 April 2005. From that date investors will be able to hold up to £4,000 in the stocks and shares component of a mini-Isa, currently limited to £3,000. At the same time, the separate insurance Isa is to become part of the stocks and shares component.
