Property funds have not participated in the rally of the past few weeks. Net asset values seem to be on a downward trend and discounts have widened again. European property companies were holding up well relative to UK ones, but discounts are widening here now. It is too early to tell whether the share-price falls have been overdone but, barring the odd bid in the sector (precluded, in many cases, by large blocking stakes owned by parties related to the management companies), it is hard to see any quick fix.
