Due to the illiquidity of its investment trusts, Liontrust is to stop offering them in an Isa wrapper from 6 April. Jonathan Harbottle, marketing director at the group, said this decision reflects the group's frustration with external market makers who, he claimed, only serve their own interests. In one case last year a market maker put a 90p spread on the Liontrust Knowledge Economy Trust, with a buy price of 100p and a sell price of 10p, according to Harbottle.
