Net UK retail sales in 2008 proved more resilient than their continental counterparts according to year-end data from Lipper. Gross retail sales were lower last year amounting to £63bn against the £66bn registered in 2007 with net retail sales even less rosy at only £4bn. In the fourth quarter UK managers did however begin to see a slight upturn with net retail sales returning to positive territory. Invesco Perpetual again saw the highest gross retail sales with volumes of £6bn which Lipper put down to sales of its popular Income range and increasingly popular Corporate bond fund. H...
