The insurance Isa component is to be dropped and rolled into the stocks and shares maxi Isa, allowing investors to put £7,000 into a tax-wrapped with-profits fund, Investment Week understands. An announcement on the Government's and the Inland Revenue's plans is expected shortly, with the aim of making the changes in time for the 2005 Isa season.
