Schroders’ Richard Buxton says though consumer confidence hangs on the financial sector it is hitting across the UK market. The group’s head of UK equities said while the volatility and extreme pessimism in the UK stock market make it difficult to gauge its imminent direction, the group is confident UK equities will be fairly range-bound over the coming months, but the floor of the range has shifted lower, most recently hit by Bradford & Bingley’s nationalisation.
