Investec has launched an offshore version of its Emerging Market Debt fund managed by Peter Eerdmans. As Investment Week reported in November, the offshore fund is part of the group’s bid to further reach international clients. It is a complete mirror of the onshore oeic, launched in July 2006, which invests in public sector, sovereign and corporate bonds issued by emerging market borrowers. Top currency positions for this fund are currently in Polish zloty, Turkish lira, Indonesian rupiaj and Hungarian forint, and most of the portfolio is invested in either single-A-, triple-B- or doub...
