Skandia has added BlackRock’s UK Absolute Alpha fund to its life and pensions and fund supermarket platforms, including Selestia Investment Solutions. Mark Lyttleton and Nick Osborne run the £714m absolute return fund, using both long and short positions and pair trades in an effort to perform even in down markets. Skandia said it added the vehicle to its platforms in response to demand from advisers. At the end of last month the fund had helped BlackRock increase its market share on the Cofunds platform to almost 20% based on sales during the first three months of 2008.
