Thames River has closed its Japan vehicle following a lack of demand for the region. As a result, the team including Mark Fawcett and Huw Llewellyn have left the group. Thames River Japan suffered redemptions and poor performance prior to the closure last month. The fund, previously headed up by Rod Birkett, saw its assets fall to around $30m. Mike Warren, investment director at the group, said: “There are not many people interested in Japan and there has been a long line of groups in the industry closing their offerings.”
