The vast majority of financial advisers do not believe their clients understand inheritance tax, according to research by Close Investments. The survey of 200 IFAs conducted in February revealed 84% do not think their clients fully comprehend the implications of IHT. Almost all (95%) of respondents agreed more information should be available in the UK on IHT as an increasing number of people now find the total value of their assets brings them within the scope of IHT.
