BlueCrest Capital Management and Merrill Lynch are launching BlueTrend Ucits, a Ucits-compliant version of the BlueTrend commodity trading advisor (CTA) strategy launched in 2004. BlueCrest has been appointed as investment manager to the vehicle with Merrill Lynch International acting as sponsor. The BlueTrend CTA strategy is a systematic, diversified trend-following programme with approximately $7bn currently under management and trading across over 150 markets on a 24-hour cycle.
