The AIC has divided its VCT sector to clear up any confusion for investors. VCTs will now be divided into six categories, instead of two, including Generalist, Aim Quoted, Healthcare & Biotechnology, Environmental, Media, Leisure and Events and Technology. Sectors will be further distinguished by those that have met the three year rule, which requires VCTs to have 70% of their holdings into qualifying investments within three years of launch, and those that have not met this requirement.
