London-based alternatives manager Duet Group has purchased New Star's Heart of Africa fund and is launching Duet Africa Opportunities which will be closed to retail investors. While Duet has not confirmed how much it paid for the assets of the former Jamie Allsopp-managed fund, New Star announced last week it was selling the portfolio at about a 20% discount to the vehicle's last reported NAV.
