Gartmore's next Absolute Return fund will either be a global or Japanese vehicle, to launch in Q4 this year, the asset manager has confirmed. The group is considering a long/short product for existing long only Global Focus fund manager Neil Rogan, who is also Gartmore's head of global equities. Alternatively, the Japanese AlphaGen Hokuto hedge fund manager John Stewart could take on a similar retail mandate.
