Schroders' former flagship income manager Chris Rodgers has taken over nearly a £1bn of equity income money at HSBC. Rodgers has inherited the £487m HSBC Income fund and the £485m HSBC Monthly Income fund from Simon Gergel. He has turned over nearly 10% of the Income fund's portfolio since taking it on last month. Rodgers, head of UK equities at the group, has been quick to move away from Gergel's strategy of backing recovery plays and has instead sought to find stocks with a proven capacity to grow income.
