Fidelity has hired Morgan Stanley's Dermott Whelan as European portfolio manager on its multimanager team. He will replace Jason Collins, who left in the summer along with Chris Ralph and Simon Mungall to set up a boutique operation with Resolution. Whelan has a 10-year investment management track record at Morgan Stanley across several asset classes. His recruitment follows the appointment in September of Eugene Philalithis, a fixed income specialist, and Geraldine Stewart, as head of investment for the group's MultiManager business.
