The FTSE 100 is off to a strong start this morning, rocketing 44.90 points (1.02%) to 4432.44, following last night's triple-figure point gain on Wall Street. Natural resources and mining companies are leading the way, with Fresnillo up 3.77% to 728.5p and Xstrata gaining 3.16% to 670p. Randgold Resources has added 3.1% to 4524p, while BHP Billiton has climbed 3.07% to 1475p. Oil ministers at Opec have decided to keep production on hold at 24.85 million barrels per day as they predict prices will rebound as the global economy recovers.
