Legg Mason Investments is targeting the UK retail market with three Oeics investing in emerging markets, Asian bonds and Japanese equities. The group is seeking FSA approval for the trio of funds run by US groups Batterymarch, Western Asset and Legg Mason International Equities (LMIE). Legg Mason hope the three will be available to UK investors in June. Batterymarch Emerging Markets Equity will be run by the subsidiary’s Asia-Pacific team led by David Lazenby.
