Miners and energy groups were the biggest losers in today’s trading as falling oil and metal prices rebounded onto FTSE 100 companies. Premier Oil was among the biggest fallers with a loss of 9.75%. BP saw its shares slip 1.73%, while Royal Dutch Shell fell 1.54% to 1858. Rio Tinto had not regained any ground from the morning, showing a loss of 4.23%. However, travel and leisure companies were buoyed by slumping crude oil prices.
