Former DWS manager Nigel Ridge has a retail UK presence again, with BlackRock adding distributor status to his offshore United Kingdom fund. The £366.7m offering has been hit by an overweight position in financials in recent months, with Northern Rock, buy-to-let lender Paragon and life assurance company St James’s Place all producing significant negative returns. Ridge said he sold most of the holding in Northern Rock in September at a price well above the quarter-end level.
