St James's Place has reported total new single investments of £711m for the first quarter of 2009. The wealth management group also saw total new business of £93.8m, of which £43.1m was investments, £46.4m was pensions and just £4.3m was protection business. New Isa and unit trust premiums were £160.7m, up 2% on last year's figure £158.2m. These figures were largely static on the same period for 2008, when unit trusts and Isas accounted for £158.2m and pensions new business was £43.5m.
