Smith & Williamson are to withdraw the management of the European Growth Trust from New Star’s Richard Lewis after hiring Mark Pignatelli from Barings. The firm outsourced the management of the fund in 2005 but will be bringing the mandate back in-house on 1 December. New Star’s Lewis currently runs the fund alongside Annie Stradling but have failed to bring the fund above the third quartile.
