Former Gartmore retail distribution head Rod Aldridge is to join Barings in a head of sales role, Investment Week understands. He will replace Jerry Devlin who departed the group earlier this year for Castlestone. It is believed his initial duties will be to re-build the sales team at Barings which has seen a number of departures over the past year. He will report to Rob Lay, head of European mutual fund sales. Aldridge left Gartmore in January following the hire of Richard Pursglove from Cazenove as head of UK retail.
