Marc Lieberman has joined the Hartford as president and CEO of its European operations, Hartford Life Limited. He replaces Mike Kalen, who is returning to the US as senior vice president of finance. Lieberman will be responsible for strategic direction, general management and profit and loss within the business. Based in the UK, he will report to executive vice president Peter Smythe. Lieberman joins from ING in New Zealand where he was CEO. Kalen will remain in Europe until 1 September to help to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.
