The issues facing Japan with respect to its ageing population are well documented.

In order to expand and grow, the country either needs to remedy its labour issues or compensate for them via additional capital expenditure.  But with core machinery orders falling much more than expected in April, the view is any serious capital expenditure is unlikely to be seen too soon.
