The River and Mercantile brand has existed since the 1800s but the asset management business in its current form has only been running since 2006. During those five years, it has endured one of the worst recessions of our times, emerging with AUM at its highest level and a profitable business. Even in the past year, where many fund groups have seen equity outflows, assets under management at River and Mercantile have been rising. AUM is up 30% to £1.75bn since March 2011 and the firm reported operating profits increased by 44% on the year in its last annual results (published July 2011)....
