Instead, they should simply diversify globally including emerging markets and at the lowest possible cost through a well-diversified tracker fund. Markets are efficient so there is no need to be messing around trying to second guess them. Own everything as cheaply as you can and over time you will find you outperform most actively traded strategies anyway.
