Following the announcement shortly after the general election that the days of child trust fund (CTF) vouchers were numbered, a draft Bill is now before Parliament that, if passed, will result in the complete withdrawal of the vouchers by the beginning of 2011. This is a bit of a blow to the future children of the UK, who will not now enjoy the same chance of a foot on the savings ladder extended to their older counterparts born between 1 September 2002 and the end of this year.
