Barings toasts quarter century with top-quartile performance

The fund celebrates its silver anniversary as one of the longest-established UK vehicles by standing first in IMA European Smaller Companies sector

One of the longest established funds in the UK, Baring Europe Select, celebrated its 25th anniversary at the end of last month. Launched on 31 August 1984, the £303.3m vehicle has built up an enviable track record in recent years, managing to consistently outperform its peers. The fund is ranked first out of 11 vehicles in the IMA European Smaller Companies sector over five years to 17 August, up 119% against an average 78.1% rise, according to Morningstar.
