Barclays Capital will launch Al Safi Trust, a Shariah-compliant investment platform by the year's end. Al Safi will comprise six Islam-compatible long/short and market-neutral sub-funds, with bottom-up, quantitative or sector-specific in-vestment styles. Each fund will offer Islamic investors independent reporting and hedge-fund exposure.
