Philip Richards, co-founder of hedge fund firm RAB Capital, is to step down as chief executive officer. Richards, who will remain an executive director of RAB, will be replaced by finance director Stephen Couttie. Richards plans to focus exclusively on running money, namely the $1.4bn RAB Special Situations and the $210m RAB Global Mining and Resources funds. The group said the process to recruit a new finance director is underway and board responsibility for finance matters will remain with Couttie pending this appointment.
