Invesco Perpetual UK Aggressive fund manager Ed Burke feels investors are becomingly increasingly short-term in their attitude towards the market. He assesses that in 2004 there was a turnover in the UK market of 1.4 times of its value compared to 0.4 times in the late 1990s. Burke believes the entrance of more short-term investors, most notably hedge funds, has its advantages. "We can now buy and sell holdings more easily but at the same time we often find that some holdings are needlessly sold down," he added.
