Invesco Perpetual UK Aggressive fund manager Ed Burke feels investors are becomingly increasingly short-term in their attitude towards the market. He assesses that in 2004 there was a turnover in the UK market of 1.4 times of its value compared to 0.4 times in the late 1990s. Burke believes the entrance of more short-term investors, most notably hedge funds, has its advantages.
