In the three years to 2002, fund of funds multi-management outside the US grew by an average 35% a year. In the UK, the rush of big names entering the sector will ensure the market keeps growing

With investor demand for multi-manager funds tipped to outpace that for conventional single manager funds, it's no surprise there are now over 150 multi-manager products available as investment companies look to secure a piece of the action. In its 2002 report on the global multi-manager marketplace, financial services management consultancy Cerulli Associates noted the market for fund of funds multi-management outside the US had grown by a heady 35% on an annual basis over the previous three years.
