Running a growth portfolio has proved to be a difficult task in recent years. The winner in this category, the unfettered New Star Performance Portfolio, managed to keep its three-year total return loses down to 6.16%. This figure was helped by a stellar performance in the period October 2002/03 when it recorded a gain of 28.64%.
