Jabre Capital is to launch a long/short fund with a bias to mid-cap European companies in December. The JabCap Mangousta fund, which is expected to raise up to $500m, will be run by former GLC manager Renaud Saleur. The fund will also be managed by Philippe Jabre, the hedge fund manager from GLG Partners who was given a record individual fine of £750,000 by the UK regulator. While at GLG, Jabre received the highest individual fine issued by the Financial Services Authority for trading on confidential information from Goldman Sachs about a 2003 convertible bond sale.
