As a teenager, I used to think a working life of 40 years was one of the biggest nightmares I would face and I vowed there was no way I would do that to myself. However 20 years later my perspective has changed: I am not sure if I do wish to retire early, ie before the age of 55; and I am not sure that I will be in a position to do so. I am also sure I don't want to work much beyond the age of 55, at least not full time, so I need to give some serious thought to how I can build a sufficiently large fund for me to continue enjoying a relatively easy lifestyle. My options are vast but one...
