Ethical investment has grown substantially over the last few years, with the amounts in ethical funds topping £6bn recently. As a manager of discretionary portfolios for private clients with an ethical orientation, we have found growth investors well catered for. In contrast, the options for more cautious income-orientated investors have been more limited, particularly if they wished to adopt a positive approach to the ethical aspects of their investments.
