The Gartmore China Opportunities Fund has been running since 1983. Manager Charlie Awdry has been part of the emerging markets team for the past seven years, and took over the management of the fund in the summer of 2006. The fund aims for long-term growth, and seeks to achieve it by spotting undervalued opportunities within Chinese companies. Mr Awdry seeks to identify those with the prospect of unexpected earnings growth.
