Russia’s independence from volatile global markets is strengthening its economic position, according to Ghadir Abu Leil-Cooper. Abu Leil-Cooper, who runs the New Russia fund, was commenting after the conversion of the fund to a Ucits compliant mandate. The fund has been renamed the Baring Russia fund and will be available from 27 December. Abu Leil-Cooper said the changes were essentially aimed at making the fund available to a wider range of investors.
