As Hendersons currently appears to be the market favourite to buy Gartmore, word has it that New Star is no longer in the running. While New Star has been rumoured to be interested in buying the group’s retail funds business, it appears Gartmore’s current parent Nationwide is keen to sell the UK business as a whole.
