Best-selling funds of 2017 in the spotlight: BlackRock trackers dominate while investors ditch SLI GARS for rival products

Five of the best-selling UK-registered funds throughout 2017 were BlackRock equity trackers, only a year on from when the top ten funds for highest inflows were all active mandates.

According to data from Morningstar, BlackRock's ACS 50:50 Global Equity Tracker fund was the best-selling product of 2017, with estimated net flows of £8.4bn.  This was significantly higher than the second best seller - M&G's £22.6bn Optimal Income fund, run by Richard Woolnough. This saw net inflows of £5.4bn, compared to £3.1bn of outflows in 2016.
