As we saw last week, the UK's vote to leave the European Union triggered a rush to safe-haven assets. In the first full week of trading following the Brexit vote, US stockmarkets followed their European counterparts lower, with major indices falling 1.2% at the start of the week, and yields on benchmark US 10-year treasuries down by 7.3 basis points to 1.49%, their lowest level since August 2012.
