Annabelle Williams takes a closer look at the prospects for five major world currencies this year.

Gareth Lewis, chief investment officer at Tilney Bestinvest, expects 2015 will be the year when currency positioning will have a bigger impact on investment returns than asset allocation. "Equity markets around the world remain largely correlated, but the big difference is currency. The biggest differentiator in performance will be which currencies you hedge and not the asset class you buy," he said.
