Rare stamps, wine, and art are among the most popular collectible alternative assets, while space memorabilia has also made the top ten following the death of astronaut Neil Armstrong.
The survey of 10,000 collectors from 214 countries conducted by Paul Fraser Collectibles found autographs, antiques and coins are popular assets, and music memorabilia from megastars such as Elvis Presley are also on buyers’ wishlists. Company founder Paul Fraser said: “Rare stamps are at number one, but for those thinking of buying for investment purposes, the emphasis has to be on the word ‘rare’.
