March saw the second anniversary of this cycle's market bottom, and over the last two years we have seen an upward trend in equity markets driven by stimulative policy and economic recovery. We are now at the stage where inflation is becoming problematic; emerging markets were weak around the turn of the year as policy was tightened in some regions in response.
