Former Axa managers Hughes and Pothier leading group's assault on multi-manager market
by phil craig HSBC Investments launched the first two portfolios in its multi-asset fund of funds range last November. Run by former Axa managers James Hughes and Nicholas Pothier, the Open Global Return and Open Global Distribution portfolios have scope to invest in private equity and hedge fund vehicles along with more conventional asset classes. The range is managed by the firm's multi-manager team led by Hughes, who joined HSBC along with Pothier last January.
