CF Ruffer European tops Balanced league

Manager of manager products from MLC and Scottish Widows lag the sector based on three-year returns

CF Ruffer European tops the Balanced Managed sector over three years to the end of August with a bid to bid return of 87.75% against the average 43.42%. Managed by Timothy Youngman, the portfolio has been a consistent outperformer, beating its peers in each of the discrete 12-month periods under examination. The fund, which holds 63 equities and five bonds and has its largest geographic exposure to Switzerland, aims to generate absolute growth through investing in a range of core holdings the manager believes can prosper in all market conditions.
