The Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust is managed by Tom Walker, who also heads up the company's US investments team. It is an equity trust with a 4.4% cash holding, as of 31 January 2009 according to the group. With a stated investment objective of achieving long-term capital growth through investing in UK and international stock markets, the trust is also able to use gearing and selective investments in unlisted securities, though it endeavours to use these vehicles prudently.
