Manager makes money in oil, retail and property sectors in recent months using pair-trade strategy to reduce net market exposure

Insight's UK Equity Market Neutral fund has seen an upsurge of interest in recent months, buoyed by tough conditions and the success of BlackRock's similar UK Absolute Alpha offering. The fund has maintained a strong track record of positive returns and low volatility through its pairing structure, taking long and short positions in selected areas to reduce net market exposure.
